This development project for Place Bonheur-D ‘Occasion was conceived and realized by Quartiers du Canal with the support of the M-5 agency.
Patrick Bachand aka “Patman”, a multidisciplinary artist from Montreal’s southwest, created a performance on Place Bonheur-D’Occasion.
A tribute to urban art and the people of the Sud-Ouest. The container was created entirely from stencil and aerosol cans over a period of 12 days (including the roof).
Patman’s inspiration came from imagining a library filled with books that, over time, sees pages fly out to tell the story of the neighborhood.
Some pages remain empty, and that’s where passers-by, citizens and, ultimately, the neighborhood’s key players came in. They too were able to leave a few words, a memory or a piece of history.
Through this container, you can recognize or discover 10 emblematic silhouettes of different artists or personalities who have left their mark on our neighborhoods:
Gabrielle Roy, Daisy Peterson Sweeney, Oscar Peterson, Rufus Rockhead, Christine Boudrias, Maurice “Mad dog” Vachon, Louis Cyr, Michaëlle Jean, Oliver Jones and Réjean Ducharme (on the outside roof).
Enjoy the container and its facilities throughout this period, until the end of October!
