On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Oscar Peterson, the legendary jazz pianist born in Montreal, the SDC Les Quartiers du Canal, in collaboration with Canadian Heritage, the Sud-Ouest Borough, and the Montreal International Jazz Festival, invites you to a festive, free tribute evening at Oscar Peterson Park, in the heart of Little Burgundy.
Live music, exhibitions, workshops, screenings, local food, and a vibrant jazz atmosphere, everything is in place to honor a giant of music, in the very neighborhood where he grew up.
To celebrate the centennial of the piano master, join us for live performances and interviews with key figures of Montreal’s jazz and cultural scene:

📸 Exhibition “Oscar in Focus” – A unique presentation of Oscar Peterson’s personal photographic archives, including many never-before-seen shots spanning over 60 years of his career, in collaboration with the Montreal International Jazz Festival. Discover familiar faces like Ella Fitzgerald, Lester Young, Norman Granz, and Ray Brown, captured through the master’s own lens.
